Camping

You may notice that I haven’t posted in a while. That’s because we went on our annual family camping trip to Fort Custer State Park.  Nick and I love this campground because the sites are really secluded and wooded.  You actually feel like you are camping—not just pitching a tent in a field along with lots of other people (who may or may not be ideal camping “neighbors”). But the biggest reason we love this state park is because of the TRAILS!  There are miles and miles of beautiful running and biking trails.

One great thing about Nick’s job is that sometimes, spending a few days at a campground can be somewhat of a “business trip” for him.  He is able to get quality training in with 100% of his runs on nice soft surfaces, which are great for injury prevention.  Plus, he adds from next to me on the couch, getting 3 to 5 naps a day (his new camping routine) is great for helping his body recover from his training.

Here's Nick during one of his strength and conditioning circuits. He's doing dips as my brother, Tyler and his son, Casper, watch.

  1. Holy cow, I didn’t know Tyler had a baby! I was looking at that picture thinking, “I wonder who’s baby that is?” Now I know! How cute!
